Peter Swanson Competes in the Sailors’ Society Three Peak Challenge
Peter Swanson along with Bonnie Gee (The Chamber of Shipping of BC) and Andrew Mayer (Prince Rupert Port Authority) competed last weekend (June 21-22) in the Sailors’ Society Three Peak Challenge.
The Challenge had 39 teams from around the world climbing three of the tallest mountains in the United Kingdom, all within a 24-hour period. The Challenge started in Scotland on Saturday, June 21, at 2:00 p.m. at the base of Ben Nevis (1,344 meters), followed by Helvellyn (950 meters) in the Lake District of England in the early hours of Sunday morning, and concluded with a climb of Snowdon (1084 meters) in Wales later on Sunday.
The Canadian team was the 24th to the top of Snowdon. The event raised over US$600,000 for the Sailors’ Society.
