Lorna A. Pawluk, Q.C. Appointed to the Board of Directors of WorkSafeBC
We are pleased to announce that Lorna Pawluk, who has practiced in association with Bernard LLP since 2006, was appointed on February 4, 2021 by the provincial government to the Board of Directors of WorkSafeBC. Lorna will be an extremely valuable addition to the Board bringing her extensive experience dealing with occupational health and safety and workplace safety matters for employers. She also brings a wealth of knowledge and board experience having held positions as a past member of the British Columbia Institute of Technology board where she was Vice Chair and chair of the Governance and Human Resources Committees, a past member of the Board of Directors of the British Columbia Safety Authority (now Technical Safety BC) where she also chaired the Regulatory Practices Committee, and her membership from 2013-2016 on the board of the College of Massage Therapists of BC and from 2013-2019 when she chaired the Inquiry Committee which investigated complaints under section 35 of the Health Professions Act. Lorna is also a past Chair of the National Administrative Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association; past board member of the Employers’ Forum, a non-profit organization representing employers in matters relating to the British Columbia workers’ compensation system; and British Columbia Council of Administrative Tribunals.
