Mooney have successfully appealed a judgment for the loss of inventory, estimated at more than $16,000,000, when a warehouse in New Westminster was destroyed by fire. On November 26, 2009 Transport Canada issued a Notice of Violation to a cruise ship for violations under the Canada Shipping Act, 2001 regarding the alleged discharge of a pollutant, failing to make entries in the oil record book, and obstructing inspectors. The administrative penalties assessed for the alleged violations exceeded $45,000.

Tom Hawkins recently completed a 17 day sail across the Tasman Sea as crew aboard the well known 46’ boat “Mahina Tiare III”. The 1,500 mile passage across one of the more challenging Seas in the world from Brisbane to Auckland NZ included winds to 46 knots and was reportedly sailing at its best.… more »
