Robert B. Anderson Associate
Robert practices in the areas of maritime and admiralty law with Bernard LLP’s litigation group. He has represented institutional and private clients on a variety of maritime matters including vessel arrest, charter party arrangements, carriage of goods, personal injury, collision, pollution and regulatory compliance. In addition, Robert routinely advises clients on private and commercial vessel transactions, maritime backed secured lending and commercial fishing licence matters.
Robert has appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia, Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Federal Court of Canada and regulatory investigations including the Transportation Safety Board. He obtained his LL.B (first class honours) from Cardiff University in 2018 and joined the firm in 2023.
Representative Cases
Steveston Harbour Authority v. Dan Mary No. 1 (Ship) Unreported – T-1381-21 (Federal Court) – In this case the Court awarded default judgment to the Plaintiff for unpaid moorage and wharfage fees owed by the defendant ship. Robert was successful in obtaining an Order permitting judicial sale of the defendant ship, with the proceeds of sale used to satisfy the Plaintiff’s default judgment, inclusive of costs.
